The EXP-32-Delelpment Board comes with an ESP32-WROOM-32 module on board which is a powerful generic Wi-Fi + BT + BLE MCU designed for a broad audience.
A variety of applications, from power-efficient sensor networks to the most demanding tasks, such as voice coding, music streaming and MP3 decoding. The heart of this module is the ESP32 chip. The embedded chip is scalable and adaptable. There are two CPU cores which can be individually controlled and the clock frequency is adjustable from 80 MHz to 240 MHz.
The user can also turn off the CPU and use the power-efficient coprocessor. Monitor the peripherals constantly for changes or exceeding limits. ESP32 integrates a variety of peripherals, including capacitive touch sensors, Hall sensors, SD card interface, Ethernet, high-speed SPI, UART, I2S, and I2C.
The analog interfaces include analog-to-digital converters and digital-to-analog converters for processing analog signals and built-in integrated Hall sensor for measuring magnetic flux density.
The ESP32 features a cryptographic unit for hardware-assisted acceleration of encryption techniques such as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and a coprocessor with low power consumption, which in addition to a real-time clock also allows the query of sensor data in standby mode . The processors are housed in the chip package Quad Flat No Leads Package (QFN) with 48 pins (size: 6 mm × 6 mm) and this in turn on a small developer board. In addition to the processor and a serial flash memory for the firmware, these semi-finished PCB modules also include the WLAN antenna and a power supply, allowing for simple applications.
